Distinguishing viscous, ballistic, and diffusive current flows in anisotropic metals

Viscous electron hydrodynamics in high quality metals has been the subject of intense experimental activity recent years. This aided by development new imaging methods that allow for direct and noninvasive electronic flows metals. In this work, authors show diffusive, viscious, ballistic regimes anisotropic can be cleanly distinguished using a single image. They propose ABA-trilayer graphene as natural platform, where ballistic-to-viscous crossover observed near-term experiments.
